Surandai
Meena's wedding took us to Surandai, a serene village near Tenkasi. The bride apparently is one of Shiny's best friends from college. After some Charlie time and having mum’s signature breakfast (Idli sambar with white chutney, kesari, kara vada and ulundhu vada), we drove two and a half hours on my father in law’s Creta. It was indeed a beautiful wedding, the Hindu girl who had been a secret Christian for a very long time won over her family’s rigidity to get married to a Christian guy in an arranged marriage setup. We were greeted with a lot of warmth. But I was busy all the time running around with my laptop. Yeah, you guessed it. I had taken work-from-home and it turned out to be work-from-wedding. Nonetheless, I was able to complete all the work and take some time out to capture few good moments in camera. We drove back to Tuticorin to board our bus to Bangalore. And then the two bankers (dad and wife) started their long talk on ‘all things bank’. After an early dinner, we bid our tata’s to both of our parents and are heading back now.
