Trichy

Vicky's wedding took us to Trichy. This guy, now living in Atlanta, is my close friend and confidante. Our friendship dates back to the 2006 engineering days, he was one of the first few friends I made in college and we became project partners during final year. Vicky and Poorani make a very beautiful couple, it is truly a pleasant feeling to see your friend tie the triple knot. About attractions in Trichy, the historical Grand Anicut (Kallanai Dam) and the Rock Fort are places one should not miss. The Grand Anicut is the fourth oldest water structure in the world, built in the 2nd century by Karikala Chola. It takes 12 rupees and one hour by bus from the Central Bus Stand to get to the reservoir. We covered the Rock Fort in the night, a 16th century temple built by the Nayaks of Madurai. I have fond memories sitting on top, near the Uchhi Pillyar Temple along with Mum, Dad and Brother and gazing at the city lights - when I was a twelve year old.
